Let’s be honest. Life is hard. From the time we are born, we are constantly navigating new experiences and facing new challenges that will profoundly influence and shape us as individuals. Let’s uncover the deeper roots of your struggles together, and implement the practical tools needed to improve your mood, strengthen your relationships, and start living the life you want.

Owner | Licensed Professional Counselor | Clinically Certified Trauma Professional
As a self-proclaimed research nerd, I prioritize combining the “art” of traditional talk therapy methods with the “science” of evidenced-based treatments supported by current research on relational neuroscience, attachment, and trauma. While I have over a decade of experience working with a variety of mental health concerns in inpatient and outpatient settings, I am especially passionate about working with trauma survivors from all walks of life. I have specialized training in the treatment of trauma, and hold a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional certification as well as receiving professional training through the STRONG STAR Training Initiative in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidenced-based treatment for PTSD.
My Therapy Style...
My therapeutic approach is built upon a systemic perspective incorporating trauma-informed practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, schema therapy, relational neuroscience, and attachment-based modalities. Family systems theory emphasizes the role of the family as an “emotional unit” that profoundly influences the way we think, feel, and behave. In a nutshell, we are all a product of our experiences and our family-of-origin creates the blue print to our interpretations and our interactions with the world around us.
Early attachment disruptions can be a primary contributor to many adult mental health challenges. These self-survival strategies as a result of our upbringing often carry over into adulthood. While our experiences may shape us, they do not have to define us. I make it a priority to create a safe and trusting environment encouraging clients to explore identifying, evaluating, and modifying internal beliefs and problematic behavioral patterns. Every new experience opens the door offering a whole new world of exploration for growth.

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.

My Guiding Principals
HONESTY
Not sugar-coating the truth, even when it's uncomfortable, if it means getting you to the next step. Providing 100% transparency in the therapeutic relationship.
AUTHENTICITY
What you see is what you get. Cultivating a sincere and genuine relationship based on human to human interactions in the therapy room.
COMPASSION
Building trust by being accountable for my own mistakes when applicable, and practicing treating myself with kindness to encourage you do to the same.
INTROSPECTION
Looking at the whole picture, not just the main event. Analyzing words, thoughts, body language, and beliefs that are preventing progress.
MODELING
Serving as a example for healthy relationships with others and yourself while providing a safe space to practice your new skills.
GROWTH
I practice what I teach...a life long commitment to furthering my education and personal growth in order to better understand and support yours.

outside the office
On a personal note…
When not treating clients, you can find me either at home with my Ausshole, Merlin, or outside exploring. My version of self-care is finding joy and fostering a sense of awe in the little things we take for granted everyday. I love connecting with nature and believe spending time outside is an important aspect of a healthy mind and maintaining one’s emotional well-being.
